Make the Comparison!
Posted on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 at 10:00 amIf you recall, I am not a huge fan of Walmart. I feel bad for my mom who pretty much has Walmart and one other option in her town for groceries. I am so thankful that I have a Publix and Kroger within a few miles of my home and for that matter a Winn Dixie and a Food Lion, if I wanted to shop those stores. I am a firm believer that Walmart is not as cheap as everyone thinks it is and the crowds are no fun to deal with. So, I was thrilled to read this post on one of the blogs I love to frequent. It really affirms what I have thought for so long! Hope you enjoy it, too!
Super Center or Grocery Store?

Ah wonderful, my blood does run in you! I too hate wally’s chaos and don’t think the occasional savings is worth it all. Dumb Wally and go kiss a frog that is already a prince.

I do hate shopping at Walmart, but I have to say that I’m one of the people who are a big advocate of Walmart having the lowest prices. Yes you can get better deals by shopping the sales and using coupons, but that’s only if you actually want and use those particular items. Most of the items on sale are pre-packaged, processed foods that we do not eat. My husband is allergic to milk so we are very brand loyal to many products such as yogurt and cereal. I try use coupons for those items but they are rarely on sale at Krogers when I have a coupon and I end up getting the better deal at Walmart. Believe me I tired giving up Walmart for awhile and my grocery budget suffered. Soooooooo….I suppose I shall be one of those poor shmucks standing in the long, painful lines at Walmart, but it works for US and I leave with more money in my pocket.
